What’s it feel like to be an Empath in a crowd?
Here I am, walking down the street with one other person who is attempting to carry a conversation with me. I do my best to listen, process and respond, but the truth is, I am so distracted by the amount of people passing me and all the waves of energy. Every step is like experiencing someone else’s world, or multiple worlds at once. Waves of love… hunger… focus… attention seekers… overwhelming groups… loneliness… laughter… confusion… hate. If you can think of an emotion, I probably felt it within the 20 minutes of walking down this street.
Now, let me say, I am not having an unpleasant experience. Yes, it is an overwhelming feeling, but I myself am not overwhelmed to the point of not functioning (like I used to get in crowds). Until I felt comfortable and empowered by my sensitivity, I would be catalyzed into a state of panic because I couldn’t keep up with what I was feeling and didn’t understand why it was happening. Nowadays, I know what is happening, I’m not surprised by it and I am, in fact, intrigued by it. I enjoy it! Besides missing a lovely conversation with a close friend, I am able to walk by hundreds of people and get to know them on a deeper level than some of their friends know them on. What a gift!
Sometimes, these waves don’t feel so welcome. For those times, there are certain techniques and guides that can help you focus on yourself or whatever it is you want to focus on, even in crowds. That is a big part of what I help my fellow sensitives with- staying in their power despite the absorption of others emotional states. I find that the best thing to do for myself is to go quiet (after I explain to my friend what is happening) and just allow these energies to flow right through me. I experience, observe but I hold on to nothing.
Wouldn’t this be a healthy way to face life in general? How often does it feel like our life events or environments are overwhelming waves of emotion and actions?
No matter how crazy these experiences can make you feel, I promise you that there are ways to thrive as an empath. We aren’t doomed for a life of solitary, but we may need to seek help and explore ways to take our emotional power back and keep it.
If that sounds like something that suits your life, never hesitate to contact me!
It is my passion to empower the empaths of Earth!
Let's do this together <3
Did we all come to the Earth with billions of fellow humans just to build our own individual lives, stay glued to screens and try our best not to make eye contact? Maybe some did, but I find that connection with others brings me great joy and feelings of harmony and unity.
There is something simply sweet and grounding about connecting to strangers for the first time, loved ones on a deeper level and to Earth herself.
Just today, I had a complete stranger sit in front of me to chat. I’ll call him Kyle. “Is this seat taken?” he asks. “Nope, it’s not.” I say and so he sits. I see no intentions in his eyes, just a curiosity. “I just walked in here, I didn’t even get a coffee. I just wanted to meet someone.” So we chat about how no one looks up long enough to meet new people. How we both love spontaneous connections, essentially. We even made constant eye contact for 45 seconds as a challenge. Our conversation went on to topics like Reiki and the classes I will be teaching in Raleigh next month and brief descriptions on what we do and who we are. Then, he left with a smile on his face and a shake of my hand.
I may never see Kyle again, but he sure left me with a sense of joy and a beautiful reminder. Connection is what it’s all about! We don’t have to walk through this life alone, with our heads down and headphones in.
We are constantly surrounded by interesting people that are bound to resonate with us on some level!
Look up! Make eye contact and smile! Give a hug! Make a phone call!
There is nothing to lose.
Only love to gain.
Thank you, “Kyle,” for sharing this experience with me! I wish you the greatest blessings on your journey.
Thank you to Owl City for this beautiful song!
Surely I could write on this topic once a month. It’s something that has helped me and my clients keep track of our well-being… Going back to basics!
Do you ever get to a point where you wonder, “What is going on with me? Why do I feel so down? Why don’t I enjoy my practice right now? Why am I so irritable?”
I do! This is when I take a minute and do a “background check.” I ask myself, “Have I been holding myself and wellness as a priority in the past couple of weeks? Have I been committed to my spiritual practice? How’s my diet been? Am I stressed out about something that is ruling my mental and emotional space?” Usually, it becomes clear that I have been distracted from my spiritual practice, been neglecting self-care and/or am in need of some redefining in my life. Many times, if one aspect of my wellness gets off balance the others are soon to follow. Back to basics I go!
For me personally, this means consistently dedicating a time to sit at my alter for meditation, writing, prayer, energy work, etc. I also make sure I’m doing something active like jogging, yoga or both. Last but definitely not least, I make sure that all my beliefs currently at play in my life serve me and what it is I am creating. Even the awareness and intention of going back to basics is enough to shift my energy to a higher place, yet ACTION is key! Take action, build that momentum and feel the difference in your heart and energy.
It’s key to find your basics. What works for you? What grounds you? What clears your energy and energizes you? What do you want to feel? What’s a small step to get to that feeling?
Find your basics, practice them and honor the process. Habits aren’t created overnight yet they can be started in this moment!
Make yourself a priority and find your bliss!
After a holiday based on thanks and giving, I hope everyone finds themselves in a place of joy and love this December.
While communing with Spirit today and reflecting on my past week, I was given a reminder for this holiday season. One which lifts all the pressure and expectations for what Christmas is, one which is easily put in to practice and one which is especially beneficial to all those you love who surround you…
Give your presence.
Our life is made up of these quick, fleeting moments. Trillions of them! We so easily stay distracted from these as we remember the past and worry about the future. Even in a state of excitement for what is to come, we ignore what is NOW. This season, take a slow breath each moment, feel the gratitude for life and bask in the small stuff. The hugs you give, the abundance you create, the giggles of excitement and even the calming of a child’s tantrum. Just as our bodies are made up of star stuff, our lives are made up of blissful moments. We only have to become aware of them!
May we calm our bodies, bring awareness to our minds and lift our spirits this season.
May we give our presence to each moment and each of our loved ones when we have them near.
May we keep a slow pace and playful heart.
May our Light burn as bright as the winter fires we share.
Namaste & Happy Holidays
Today, I was given a beautiful message in my angel reading that I felt the desire to share.
As some of you know, releasing this website and intention to spread bliss globally has been a long time coming, but also has felt like a "coming out." Though, I started embracing my gifts and True Self long ago, I had plenty of resistance to sharing them fully. Yet, here I am just a day after posting this site publicly and already I am surrounded by such intense love, support, gratitude and relief! The blessing are literally coming in by the minute! Thank you all for this lovely blessing.
Each fear you face will bring abundant blessings.
I wholeheartedly believe this. When you speak your truth and express love, you awaken into your True Self. Others do recognize this, whether it's conscious or not. This high vibration spreads like wild fire.
We all need love and the more often we jump at an opportunity to express love, the more often we tell God/Source/Universe that we are open to receiving and sharing it.
By becoming aware of your beliefs, thoughts and habits, you can begin to compare them to your desires. How do you want to feel in general? About life? About yourself? Who do you want to be? What do you want to do? Compare these to your current beliefs, thoughts, etc. and release those which do not serve you and your desires. Many times we pick up others beliefs and habits of others (especially our parents and societies) and never rethink them. "We've always done it this way." This statement is potentially toxic. We are all so unique, don't we deserve unique beliefs and desires? I believe we do. Since coming into my own, I have truly never felt SO d*mn good!
We all have the power to be who we truly want to be. I desire this for you and the rest of the world. Won't you join me in this Heaven on Earth?
Love & Blessings,
